THE FUTURE OF ART IN WORKSPACES AND HOW YOU CAN ADAPT (2023)

Updated: Mar 20, 2023

Bringing art into the workspace is about far more than just decorating walls and filling empty space. Art when picked correctly is utilised to communicate the values of your firm, it is placed in certain areas specifically to inspire employees, guests, investors, and clients. Art can be part of elevating the brand identity and if curated correctly, it can even be the spark that gets employees or customers talking about your company.

In 2023 the modern office is hybrid. For smaller companies or start-ups, a home office or co-working space can be enough to fulfil the needs of a workspace and in larger more mature corporations’ employees have “hot” desks instead of a fixed seat. Post covid, employees don’t go to offices five days a week. It simply isn’t necessary. These changes in how we work have also led to a development of the purpose of an office.

It isn’t merely a separate space that facilitates work. It’s a place that should inspire people to do their best work and boost their creativity.

But this highlights a challenge for the modern firm. How can companies create these inspiring and inviting work environments?

To answer this, I want you to think of that one friend who bought the very first iPhone. He’s the friend you bring up randomly at dinners or get togethers just to mention that he was one of the first people who had an iPhone. That friend occupies a special space in your memory because their story of buying the iPhone sticks. It sticks because it was progressive, innovative, and new. It sticks because at the time it wasn’t normal. You see, normal doesn’t stand out. Special does.

Now how does this translate to creating inspiring office environments? Well, for your company to stand out like your friend with the iPhone you have to try to think progressively and new. This is where I take you back to digital art or NFT art. NFT art is the newest and most progressive form of art that utilises all the technologies at our disposal today, that allows for the creation, uploading, and transferring of art. Artists create digital masterpieces directly on their computers, tablets or phones and transfer them to new owners without ever bringing the artworks into the physical world. People got so excited about this trend that in 2022 four percent of Americans owned an NFT (a 100% increase from 2021). The big corporations, like Adidas, Gucci, Visa, and Hennessy understand this excitement and take advantage of movements like NFTs to lift the image of their company. Of course, the investments by these companies are in the millions so how could your firm keep up?

Bring digital art directly into your environment. Show your employees, guests, clients and investors how forward-thinking and progressive you are. Create an environment that inspires innovation and technological progression. Show them that your company embeds innovation and inspiration into everything that you do. Even the art that hangs on your walls.

At NFT Selections we want to help you create an office space that stands out and inspires unlike any other. Our rental model allows you to keep your environment fresh and ever changing and best of all, we take care of everything from start to finish.
